They call the drive from Durango down to the coast at Mazatlan "La Espina del Diablo", or "The Devil's Backbone". These pictures barely do it justice. It's rather tricky taking good shots with a point-and-shoot camera from a moving bus. Frustrating, more than anything.
That's the road we've already traversed.
..and I'm fairly sure this is the same road after another couple of switchbacks.
I'm really glad my guide book mentioned how scenic the drive is. Normally I try to travel overnight.
